ALCP

Enhancing connectivity and optimising road investment in the Northern Mountains

Design of Axle Load Control Program

The Design of the Axle Load Control Program (ALCPD) is a complementary activity to the Detailed Design and Documentation supported by Aus4Transport for the Northern Mountain Provinces Transport Connectivity Project (NMPTCP).

This activity addresses vehicle overloading issues in the project area by providing specific measures to control vehicle loads up to the maximum permitted weight on the road surface. The activity will support the identification and mitigation of the negative impacts of overloading, such as pavement and bridges deterioration. It will also increase road safety, and overall, contribute to accelerate the economic, socio-cultural and environmental development of the region.

  • BUDGET: USD 170,000
  • ACTIVITY OWNER: PMU2
  • OTHER AGENCIES INVOLVED: DRVN, MOPS, NTCS, PPCs, PDOTs
  • OUTPUTS: A comprehensive Axle Load Control Program Design that will lead to safer and more durable roads.
