Shifting approach

In the last three decades, Vietnam has achieved remarkable economic and social development, now qualifying as a middle-income country. This achievement has been accompanied by an inevitable shift on the shape of the international support received from donors. International investment has transitioned from support to build hard infrastructure to a focus on developing sustainable capacity that can drive reform, innovation and application of best international practice.

In this regard, Aus4Transport provides support to the Government of Vietnam through funding and through technical assistance, functioning as a true partnership between the two governments by serving both countries’ strategic priorities through joint implementation.
